What they were up against:
Trimble Field Technology had been working with another advertising agency and had struggled to see the performance they were looking for. They had four primary goals:
- Generate more leads while driving cost-per-lead (CPL) down
- Lower the fees they were paying to an agency
- Access consistent reporting that the sales team could understand
- More flexibility to rotate advertising creative
How we helped:
Our team worked with Trimble Field Technology to provide the right price point, consistent reporting, and the overall flexibility they needed. Along with that, we created a plan to drive the results they were looking for. This included:
- Strategizing with the client on a new creative approach
- Introducing and adjusting targeting methods
- Restructuring the Google Ads account
- Implementing ads on Facebook
Lots of things needed to work together.
A Fresh Creative Approach
We started by using a more appealing offer. Then we utilized existing imagery and videos from the client in order to get the ads live quickly and on-budget. We also implemented a new format of ad in LinkedIn and Facebook. All of these changes increased lead volume and conversion rate.
Introducing and Adjusting Targeting Methods
The new targeting methods we introduced included job title targeting, contact list uploads, as well as utilizing a trusted third party data provider.
Restructuring Google Ads Account
We restructured their Google Ads account to make campaigns more granular so that the ad copy was more focused on specific keywords. We also implemented a new ad element that was in beta with Google, that benefited the campaign’s click-through-rate.
Implementing Ads on Facebook
We used much of the same creative and targeting methods from LinkedIn to create similar ads across Facebook, introducing very little additional cost to the client. Since then, Facebook has become our most successful platform, with a CPL 54% lower than the other platforms in use over the last 6 months.
Continual improvement: we increased ad conversion rates year over year.
